Namco Bandai

Namco Bandai Games Inc.(NBGI) is a Wholesale Namco Bandai GamesJapanese  major publisher of video games. It is founded in 2005, as a a result of merger between Namco Ltd. and Bandai Co. Ltd.

The company has teh following structure, Namco Bandai Group includes three major components, Toys & Hobby, Contents, which includes Namco Bandai Games, and third direction is Amusement Facility SBUs.

Both Namco and Bandai have produced significant number of video games before the merger. Namco Ltd. has started developing games since 1978 with its first title Gee Bee, though the company itself was founded long before under the name Nakamura Manufacturing in 1955. The company has had a long history of developing arcade games, and toys. In 1974, after having financial difficulties, Atari Japan was sold and was acquired by Namco. In 1989 Namco started to produce 16 bit games for NEC platform and for PC. IN 1993 Namco has demonstrated its first 3D graphics game, Ridge Racer.

Bandai Co., Ltd. was established in 1950 in Tokio as a toys and games manufacturer. Its sets of toy sports cars were especially successful in 1960s. The business grew very well and by 1980s Bandai has become the leading toys manufacturer in Japan. Bandai started producing in 1970s with its TV Jack console line. Later it has introduced Bandai Super Vision 8000, and developed games for NEC. During years, Bandai has made several attempts of developing its own console, also in partnership with Apple in 1990, and some handheld consoles however neither of their console formats has had a mass success.
